Writing Contest

I finally wrote up my story for the writer's contest. I don't know if it's great yet because I still have to proofread. But I have a rough draft finished. The writer's contest is based on this poster. The only requirement is that you get inspired by it. The deadline is May 15th so I better get busy. All entries will be posted on the Steele Memorial Library website.

Long Time No See

I haven't written really anything new with my magic story or anything because I have been distracted. But also because I have been really getting into this book called Writing Begins with Breath  Embodying Your Authentic Voice. I am discovering who I am as a writer and why I write, to begin with.

Inside My Head

I am amazed at what comes out of my head sometimes. Making a lot of progress with my new book. I surprised myself on how much I can accomplish in a short time. I know I was born to be a writer. It's my gift and I am very very happy about that. 

I am a writer. I write therefore I am.

I haven't written in awhile in my new novel. I decided to call it The Hidden Magic. But today I could just see it. I wanted to involve werewolves too. Very proud with the process even though I am all over the place with the order.

First Draft Revisions

I finished my book Hottie Next Door revisions on Tuesday. Looking forward to typing up chapter 4.

F. Scott Fitzgerald

F. Scott Fitzgerald said to sell your heart, your strongest reactions, not the little minor things that only touch you lightly, the little experiment that you might tell at dinner.

Fitzgerald is one of my favorite authors and what he is telling about writing here is that you write about what is important to you, the experiences you have, and things that impact you greatly.

I heard this quote a few days ago and I wasn't sure what it meant until today. It means you don't have to know your whole story ahead of time you just write and see what happens. This makes me feel confident because I am a free writer. I usually develop my story based on just random things that pop into my head and not knowing the whole story is ok.

New Novel

I wrote a short story for my writer's group on Tuesday that was inspired from a writing prompt that I got from the library. I wanted to start writing a paranormal romance book. This story might actually turn into a novel because today I had an inspiration and wrote another paragraph to tie into it. Let's see how far it goes.

Editing Part One

Today I started editing my romance novel The Hottie Next Door. Can't believe I have over 20 pages out of my imagination.

Finding My Passion Once Again

I lost touch with who I am and what I want. A big part of my life has been fractured and I am fixing it. But writing has always been my thing. And books. I joined a writers group and started exploring who I am again. I hope this blog will ignite the fire once again that resides deep in my soul.
